How to make the Barn Find AI photo on Smew AI

Everything happens in your browser. No separate editing app, no prompts to write, no watermarks added.

  1. Add your photo

Tap "Create your own" and upload your truck or car showing the complete vehicle. Snap it with your camera or choose from your library.

  2. Press Generate

The button displays the cost. Nano Banana 2.1 places your photo in the Barn find setting and creates one 2K photo. You don't write prompts.

  3. Download or share

Your photo arrives in minutes as a 2K image in 9:16 format. Save it, share from your phone, convert it to video, or access it later in your Library.

Which photo works best?

Upload one clear photo showing the complete vehicle: your truck, car, SUV, van or tractor for Truck or car and Video, your dirt bike, e-bike, motorcycle, moped, scooter or quad for Bike.

  • Show all of it. A front corner angle in daylight delivers the best results, roof to tires, wheels visible.
  • Mods count. Your lift, wheels, bumpers, racks and light bars will transfer to the result, so include them in frame.
  • One vehicle, no crowd. Position it away from other vehicles. Any people in the photo won't appear in the barn.
  • Badges and plates: the barn picture omits badges, emblems and license plates, letting you share without exposing your plate number.
  • Upload a photo of your own vehicle, or one you have permission to use.

Where did the Barn Find AI trend start?

The concept went viral on TikTok around New Year 2025/26. Truck owners shared two AI images: "Barn finds now" showing an aged pickup covered in dust and spiderwebs, then "Barn finds in 30 years" featuring their current truck in the same condition. @povertydnr's 31 December post hit 782,800 views, while @thesilver6.7l's 2 January post reached 764,700 views and 147,900 likes. When asked about his method, he replied "ChatGPT", and @coors_3.5l later revealed his full prompt: "put my truck in an old barn with spiderwebs". The earliest example we discovered is a tractor shown "in 50 years", uploaded with German hashtags on 18 December 2025.

July 2026 brought a surge of moped and dirt bike versions, followed by e-bikes in September ("Typa barn finds our kids will find in 20 years", 136,600 views for @607mo). On 10 October, @diesel_.burnout shared his lifted pickup with the caption that defines the trend today, "What my kids are gonna find in the barn in 20 years", and CapCut template tutorials flooded TikTok two days later under #truckinbarn. The concept itself dates back further: AI "barn finds in the future" series featuring famous supercars attracted millions of views in 2023.

  1. @nerosgarage shares "Barn finds in the Future pt.3", a slideshow featuring AI images of famous supercars as dusty barn discoveries; it reaches 8.5 million views by 14 October 2026. TikTok

  2. @johann_fendt_820 shares "Barn find nowadays", an aged tractor, alongside an AI rendering of his current tractor "in 50 years": the earliest personal vehicle post in this format we found (78,700 views by 14 October 2026). TikTok

  3. @povertydnr shares "Barn finds now" and "Barn finds in 30 years" featuring two pickups; it surpasses 782,800 views and 123,300 likes, the highest-viewed post of the trend we discovered. TikTok

  4. @coors_3.5l shares his truck as a barn find "in 30 years" and explains his method: "chat gpt just said put my truck in an old barn with spiderwebs". TikTok

  5. @diesel_.burnout shares his lifted pickup in a barn with the caption "What my kids are gonna find in the barn in 20 years" (37,000 views and 4,891 likes by 14 October). TikTok

  6. The #truckinbarn hashtag appears, and CapCut template tutorials for the "truck in barn trend" proliferate on TikTok; the tag contains 58 videos by 14 October. TikTok

Use the uploaded image as the base. Put my truck in an old barn with spiderwebs: my truck is the vehicle in the uploaded image, whatever kind it is (a pickup, a car, an SUV, a van or a tractor). Restage the exact vehicle from the uploaded image as a barn find, 20 years from now: parked in a dusty wooden barn under a thick layer of dust, warm sunbeams cutting through gaps in the wooden slats, straw on the floor, abandoned-Americana aesthetic, fine film grain. The vehicle's body, wheels and paint remain recognizable beneath the dust. Documentary photography. It has sat untouched for 20 years: thick grey-brown dust and dried dirt on the hood, the roof and the windows, so the glass is cloudy; dusty spiderwebs hanging from the mirrors, the wheels, the bumpers and the roof beams; dry leaves and loose straw on the hood and the roof; faded paint with a few small rust spots; cloudy headlights; tires a little flat, sunk into the dirt floor. It is still clearly the same vehicle as in the photo, so the owner knows it at once: the same body shape and size, cab, bed or trunk, doors, paint color under the dust, grille shape, headlights, wheels and tires, ride height or lift, bumpers, racks, light bars and every other part it has. Never a different or older model, never restored or shiny. The barn: weathered vertical wooden boards with thin gaps of daylight, heavy roof beams with a few broken boards and holes in the roof, a hay bale, an old rusty barrel and an old wagon wheel at the sides, dust floating in the beams of light, warm brown tones and deep shadows. The vehicle stands in the middle of the barn in a front three-quarter view, the whole vehicle in frame from the roof to the tires, in the lower half of the picture, with the camera at headlight height and the roof beams and the light above it. Photorealistic, a real photo, not CGI, not a painting. Vertical 9:16. No people and no human faces anywhere in the picture. No badges, emblems or lettering on the vehicle and no readable number plate, even if the photo shows them. No text, no captions, no logos, no watermark.

What does the barn find AI keep, and what does it change?

The trend succeeds because the vehicle remains clearly yours, just aged 20 years. Commenters on popular posts identify the precise model and year, so the image must preserve details owners recognize.

How Smew AI makes it: your photo feeds into Nano Banana 2.1, Google's image model. The prompt begins with the phrase a first-wave creator revealed for his ChatGPT version, "put my truck in an old barn with spiderwebs", then adds the barn find environment and aesthetic from the trend's highest-viewed images. You receive one 2K vertical image (9:16) without text or watermarks. The create page shows the precise cost on the Generate button, and each run ages your vehicle slightly differently.

Truck or car, Bike or Video: which version should you pick?

All three require one photo of your vehicle.

  • Truck or car matches how most users share the trend: your pickup, car, SUV, van or tractor positioned center in an aging barn, front corner facing the camera, sunbeams piercing the boards. One 2K picture.
  • Bike handles dirt bikes, e-bikes, motorcycles, mopeds, scooters and quads. Your bike rests on its kickstand near the barn wall, covered in spiderwebs. Bikes drove the trend during summer 2026: @607mo's e-bike post hit 136,600 views, the highest-viewed bike post we discovered.
  • Video generates the Truck or car picture first, then an 8-second clip: the camera gradually pushes in as dust particles drift through light, accompanied by soft barn sounds. Standard runs Kling 3.0; Best runs Seedance 2.5 and costs more.

Below any completed picture you can also tap "Make it a video" and describe your own scene.

How do you post it like the trend?

The trend has three formats. Pick the one you like.

  • Now vs later (the original): a two-photo carousel. Slide 1 says "Barn finds now" over an old classic, for example your dad's old truck; slide 2 says "Barn finds in 30 years" over your own vehicle. This is how the New Year 2026 posts passed 750,000 views.
  • What my kids will find: one picture with the text "What my kids are gonna find in the barn in 20 years". This is the October 2026 wave.
  • Before and after: your vehicle as it is today, then the barn find.

Sound: the New Year posts used a guitar "original sound" by jacal, and the October truck posts an "original sound" by Logan. Tap the sound on any trend post to use it.

Hashtags: #barnfind (83,735 TikTok videos on 14 October 2026), #truckinbarn (the October tag) and #barnfindtrend. Keep the platform's AI label on, like most of the trend's top posts, so nobody thinks your truck is really rotting in a barn.

What goes wrong with a barn find picture, and how do you fix it?

What goes wrongWhat our prompt does, and what you can do
It comes out as a different or older modelThe prompt preserves the body, grille, headlights and wheels from your photo and prevents an older model. Upload a sharp photo showing the complete vehicle from the front corner, and generate again if necessary
Your lift, wheels or racks are goneThey're in the keep list. Confirm the photo captures them
It looks too clean, or restoredThe prompt specifies 20 years of heavy dust, spiderwebs and deflated tires. Generate again: each run ages it somewhat differently
A badge or the plate is missingBy design: the image excludes badges, emblems and license plates
Someone from the photo shows upThe prompt excludes people. A photo with just the vehicle works best
In the video, the vehicle moves or a light comes onThe video prompt keeps it stationary with doors shut. Generate again or choose Best

If a generation fails, your credits are refunded.

FAQ

Barn Find AI trend questions

What is the barn find AI trend?
It's a TikTok photo trend: an AI image depicts your personal truck, car or bike as a dusty barn discovery 20 or 30 years in the future, covered in dust and spiderwebs inside an aging barn. It launched at New Year 2026 as "Barn finds now" vs "Barn finds in 30 years" and resurfaced in October 2026 as "What my kids are gonna find in the barn in 20 years".
How do I do the "what my kids are gonna find in the barn" trend?
Tap "Create your own", select Truck or car, Bike or Video, upload one photo of your vehicle and tap Generate. Smew AI positions it in an aging barn 20 years ahead and saves the picture to your Library. Then overlay the caption "What my kids are gonna find in the barn in 20 years" when posting. You don't need a CapCut template, ChatGPT or prompts.
Is it "what my kids will find in the barn" or "what my grandkids will find in the barn"?
Users employ both versions, with time frames of 20, 30 or even 50 years: the earliest format post we located, featuring a tractor, depicts a barn find in 50 years. The old truck in the barn trend expresses the same concept.
What prompt did the creators use?
The initial wave created pictures using ChatGPT. One creator, @coors_3.5l, revealed what he entered: "put my truck in an old barn with spiderwebs". Our prompt begins with those words then adds the barn find environment and visual style from the trend's highest-viewed images: heavy dust, spiderwebs, deflated tires and sunbeams through the planks.
Will it still look like my truck?
That's the core of the trend, and the prompt is designed for it. It preserves the body shape, paint color beneath the dust, grille shape, headlights, wheels, lift and additions like racks and light bars. A sharp photo showing the complete vehicle from the front corner produces the closest match.
Does it work for cars, SUVs, tractors and motorcycles?
Yes. Truck or car handles any car, SUV, van, pickup or tractor; the earliest trend posts featured tractors. Bike handles dirt bikes, e-bikes, motorcycles, mopeds, scooters and quads.
Which version makes a barn find car, a barn find truck or a barn find tractor?
Truck or car creates all three from one photo of the vehicle. For a dirt bike or e-bike barn find, select Bike.
Why are the badges and the number plate gone?
The image removes badges, emblems, lettering and license plates intentionally. Your vehicle remains identifiable by shape, color, wheels and modifications, and you can share the image without exposing your plate to strangers.
Can I make it a video?
Yes. Choose Video: it creates the barn find picture first, then an 8-second clip where the camera gradually pushes in on your dusty vehicle as dust particles float through the sunbeams, with soft barn sounds. The video requires more credits than the picture.
Is there a CapCut template for the barn find trend?
Yes, CapCut templates for the "truck in barn" trend proliferated on TikTok starting 12 October 2026. Smew AI has no connection to CapCut. Here you need no app or template: one photo, and the result appears in your Library.
Is there an AI barn find app or barn find filter?
Smew AI functions as an AI barn find app and barn find generator. You upload one photo, and the AI applies the barn find effect of dust and spiderwebs, with no prompts to write.
Should I say it is AI when I post it?
Yes. Every image in this trend is AI-generated, and most top posts display TikTok's AI label. Keep TikTok's AI label visible, so viewers understand your truck isn't actually sitting in a barn.
Can I use a photo of someone else's car?
Upload a photo of your own vehicle, or one you have permission to use. The trend centers on what your kids will discover in your barn, so your personal ride makes the joke land.
Does the barn find AI cost credits?
Yes. A picture requires a few credits, significantly fewer than a video. The create page displays the precise cost on the Generate button before any charge, and if generation fails, credits are refunded.
Is my photo private?
Yes. Smew AI doesn't post your photo or result anywhere or display them to other users. The picture goes to your private Library, and you can delete it there anytime.
